About

Simone Cole | Owner, Instructor & Practitioner

Hi, I’m Simone. I feel incredibly grateful to be living my passion as a full-time Pilates instructor and holistic practitioner—but the path here has been anything but linear.

For 20 years I built a career in event management, followed by a decade as an Executive Assistant and Communications Lead to a CEO. In my late 30s, I discovered Pilates and fell in love with the practice. It became a grounding force in my life and inspired me to set a bold five-year goal: to qualify as a Level 3 Pilates Instructor while still working full time.

At 44, after in-person Classical Pilates MAT training, 200 hours of self-practice, 100 hours of teaching practice, plus theory and practical exams in anatomy and physiology, I achieved that dream. Since then, my learning has never stopped. I’ve expanded my practice with Freestyle Fitness Yoga (the foundation of my Stretch and Restore classes), Level 1 & 2 Reiki Practitioner qualifications, Level 3 Meditation Teacher training through the British School of Meditation, and Essential & Progressive Reformer training with JPilates.

For over six years, I balanced teaching with a corporate career, before finally taking the leap in 2025 (the year I also turned 50 and married my long term partner!) to leave the day job behind to dedicate myself fully to teaching and supporting others through movement, mindfulness, and holistic practice.

While I’m proud of turning my passion into a fulfilling career, the greatest reward has always been seeing the transformations in my clients—whether that’s moving with less pain, feeling stronger, or finding calm in a busy world. Their trust and commitment inspire me every single day.

I’m also deeply proud of the community that’s grown at Studio Eighty Nine—a warm, supportive, and friendly space where clients encourage one another, celebrate progress, and truly enjoy the journey together. To me, that’s what wellness should feel like.

Outside the studio, I’m married to Dean and proud mom to two amazing daughters, Imogen and Grace. I love a good cup of tea, chocolate in almost any form, and long walks with our very active dog Douglas—a cross between a Black Lab and Springer Spaniel, who keeps us all on our toes!

Pilates is about both mind and body. What Simone has achieved is to ensure that if you take part in her class, you are completely rewarded on both counts. She is a skilled and experienced Pilates practitioner and has created a class which thrives from this. The Pilates moves Simone uses are always varied which maintains the challenge she sets to us all and she manages with such skill the different levels of ability in the class whilst also rewarding and praising our efforts. Simone has established an incredibly positive vibe in her class; the pace of her lessons, the vocal support of what and how to do the moves and the varied equipment she includes makes the class so worthwhile. I cannot praise her enough. I personally would never miss a class if I can help it and I always walk out of her lesson feeling so rewarded. She is amazing. | Vicki D
